Since his childhood, Markus Schwinge has been searching for the big connections – first by the water and under the starry sky, later in companies, technologies, and in people's stories. His books are connected by one question: How do we remain human when our tools become ever more powerful?

 

As the son of a butcher's shop assistant and a police officer, he learned early on that responsibility is rarely theoretical. After studying food technology, he worked in various industrial sectors and led companies and employees for decades. His entrepreneurial stations include, among others, Löwensenf, Valensina, Beckers Bester, the Rüdesheimer Weinkellerei, GS Neue Energien with solar power, and GreenKitchen with sustainable cookware. Decisions about investments, jobs, and the future were never abstract for him, but part of daily life.

 

His second great passion is nature and the cosmos. He has been observing the starry sky since his childhood; today, he also dedicates himself to astrophotography. He travels, explores landscapes, spends time by the water, and fishes – a connection with nature that shapes his view of humanity.

 

As an author, Markus Schwinge combines practical experience with philosophical curiosity. His debut work "Jonas and the Whales" (Jonas und die Wale) emerged from his closeness to the water and his experience as a diving instructor. Today, he writes novels and social non-fiction books about responsibility, humanism, technology, and the future of our world.

 

Again and again, his books revolve around the same question: What remains of the human being when their tools become ever more powerful?
